Book Review – The King by Lorilyn Roberts

Good Morning! Here is the Monday Morning Blog!

I’ll start with my exciting news. The blog is coming from a new location! Over this past weekend I made the move and created a new website, www.SelmaPVerde.com. I am feeling good about the progress so far, but please bear with me as things are still coming together with the site.

After last week’s unplanned post about my first author interview, I am going to get back to my plan for the new year, book reviews. My main focus will be to review middle grade and young adult books. It is the audience I am writing for and I want to provide parents, teachers and librarians with some ideas of books I consider good reads for these age groups.

I am excited to be starting off 2018 with a review of the second book in the Seventh Dimension series called The King by Lorilyn Roberts.

Book Title

The King

Author

Lorilyn Roberts

Type of Book

Young Adult Fantasy

Background

This is the second book in a series of five in the Seventh Dimension series. It is a young adult fantasy story with a Christian focus. This book is the winner of many awards including being a Silver winner in the 2015 Readers’ Favorite Book Awards for YA and a finalist (fifth) in the 2015 Best Indie Book Award for YA fiction.

Summary of the story

Daniel is a teenager who lives in current day Israel. While caught up in the war in his country, he travels back through the seventh dimension to first century Israel in the time when Rome ruled the land. He has many adventures throughout the story and battles both good and evil to find his place in his own life and on his path with God.

Reactions to the story

I liked the book. The story was very engaging and while I read it, I felt like I was in that time period. It is the second book in a series but could be read as a stand alone. Having read book one, I did like how Roberts brought the storyline line from the first book into this one. Even with the christian flavor and references to stories of the bible, I believe the book could be enjoyed by a young adult reader who enjoys a good coming of age story.

  1. Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve: http://janzac.com/
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Hope to hear from you soon.

    P.S.
Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?

    Regards
    Jan Zac

    1. Good evening Jan!

I just got this website up and running this last weekend. Thanks for your feedback. I will be more than happy to take a look at your site and give you some feedback. As far as advertsing goes, I haven’t really done much with that yet. I spent the last three and a half years blogging and buiding my author platform. Didn’t spend much time promoting, but a lot of time and energy focused on writing. After publishing my book, The Hard Way last spring, I had a pretty busy run with my day job. So promotion has become the focus for 2018.

Give me a couple of days and I’ll get some feedback to you. Thanks for checking in and subscribing to the newsletter. First edition to premier in March.

      1. Good evening! I took a look at your page and love the layout. Easy to follow. There are a lot of financial sites out there, be sure you have something that sets you apart from those sites. Why will people come to your site versus someone else’s? I am not well versed in some of the terms that you refer to. May want to define them a little bit more for a person who is not in the industry. Maybe a of you introducing the terms and what you recommend for people to find financial freedom. Is that the kind of feedback you are looking for? My fiancee is taking a look too. I’ll see if he has anything to add.

What did you think?
